![]() I plan on doing as concise a write-up and companion video tutorial for all of this some day soon, once I finish working on the project I had wanted to do years ago. It might not be the same as strapping a laser scanning thing to a car and getting ultra high res data right from the source, but I feel like if you have some decent LIDAR data and you really take the time to get it into Blender and clean it up nicely, it will be just as good. In regards to laser scanning, depending on what you're thinking of doing, there are ways of getting LIDAR data into Blender which could help get you close to that kind of accuracy. Although, and no knocks against him as I don't believe English is his first language, it might take you a few dozen reads on certain things to make sense of what he wrote. Frederick Alonso on the forums has a Patreon where he's made some posts outlining his process. The only downside with Blender is nobody has a really concrete, easy to follow, step by step tutorial for going from a blank Blender file to a finished product, even if it's super simple. Seems to be a rigging thing that I haven't seen anyone post a working example / walkthrough of Exporting animated objects like corner workers.Really not a deal breaker, but if you're hoping to make a fully-featured track for night racing this becomes more of a priority.) This is really only applicable to actually getting things like lamp posts to emit light in the game. Omni lighting (Seems to be dependent on the 3Ds Max omni light object, I'm sure an equivalent workflow exists in Blender but I have yet to see anyone who's figured it out.Billboarding trees / spectators (Not sure if the guy making the export scripts is including functionality in his next release for enabling the flags that are required). The necessary scripts for Blender can be found here: įrom what I can gather, you use Blender for every component necessary in getting a track made except for: I really recommend Blender as it's free, and in my opinion is exponentially better and easier to use than 3Ds Max. With rFactor 2 though, especially more recently with the changes to the materials with PBR etc, BTB / RTB were no longer "every step necessary can be done here" tools, and it seemed like 3Ds Max was a hard stop requirement which being a broke college kid was a no go.īut, it seems like recently some people have done the leg work to figure out how to do most everything in Blender, and after some trial and error and jumping around not so great documentation in my opinion (The info is there, but not very concise), I think I've managed to figure most of it out. ![]() I did a bunch of track building with BTB for rFactor 1 over 10 years ago when things were a bit simpler. ![]()

Remote access software works by creating a connection between the local and host devices. While built-in remote access tools offer a number of helpful features, they are often limited in their cross-platform compatibility and security. The tool itself is called Windows Remote Desktop and allows users to access system properties, reboot computers, view event logs, and manage Windows processes – no matter where they are located. Windows, for example, offers some intuitive remote desktop tools that enable IT support technicians to perform certain tasks remotely. This may be more suited to IT experts who seek to modify or customise the software themselves to best suit the needs and requirements of their businesses.Īlternatively, another option is to explore the built-in capabilities offered by certain operating systems, many of which include free remote access software and allow certain remote functions. Ideal for both first time users and IT novices alike, the software solutions provide users with the freedom to experiment with the tool before acquiring more comprehensive software and paying for the extended features.Īnother option is open source or distribution-free remote software. One of the most appealing factors of remote software is not just its cost effectiveness, but also its ease of use. The free remote access software solutions are a great way to determine which features your business requires most. Additionally, with certain operating systems there are built-in remote access tools that provide a few basic features, even though they remain somewhat limited in comparison to those offered as paid software. With features such as instant access to files, seamless resource sharing, and secure connections, remote access tools have never been simpler to use.įor small businesses looking for a cost-effective first step into the world of remote access solutions, or perhaps those interested in a trial phase first, there are of course free remote access software programs available. Suitable for tech support staff, managed service providers, and anyone tasked with troubleshooting technical issues, remote desktop software can transform your IT maintenance process overnight. It gives employees instant access to important resources whenever they need them. Remotely accessing PC resources is important for both small and large businesses. Once this is complete, the two machines are connected via a secure desktop sharing network that grants you full control over the remote device and all of its resources. An access code is generated that will be used to authenticate your login from the local device to the remote device. A new session is possible once you run the remote software at both ends of the connection. Through the use of remote access software, important resources such as files, documents, and even software that is saved onto the company network can be accessed no matter where you are. Widely used by employees at large and medium-sized companies who run on a corporate network, remote access facilitates improved processes for IT support workers and enables more streamlined cooperation among teams working in different locations. The software can be installed directly onto a device and accessed over the internet at any time. The use of a dedicated personal computer for troubleshooting signifies that technicians can address issues even if the phone itself is not functioning.Remote access software allows local users to establish a connection with a remote device or network. Whether referring to a minor software issue or a major system crash, help is only moments away when this unique application is employed. However, there are multiple critical limits on the design, deployment and performance of UAVs. Furthermore, they reduce the labor and time required to survey, inspect and sample on ground, provide collision avoidance and quick convergence to reach targets, and offer more time for intended managerial operations. These flying objects are helpful in monitoring as they bridge the constraints in limited-access, dynamic, harsh and complex environments. UAVs have the capability to access remote or dangerous areas, facilitate environmental monitoring and capture high-resolution imagery. Furthermore, they are being used in mobile edge computing, cellular communication, package delivery, smart healthcare, intelligent transportation systems, video surveillance missions, precision agriculture, power-line inspection, remote sensing, search and rescue, and performing relief operations in disaster environments. In the military, UAVs offer navigation, secure communication and reconnaissance. Docking stations can solve the battery endurance issue and put UAVs one step ahead in autonomous systems.Īt present, UAVs are being used in multiple military, industrial and commercial applications, as shown in Fig. Another promising solution is a docking station, which can recharge or swap batteries, store and even perform communication tasks with UAVs. This issue can be mitigated through the design of different types of batteries using hybrid systems or internal combustion engines. The main critical limitation among UAVs is flight endurance, which is limited due to the limited power supply provided by batteries. There are several limitations to the practical implementation of UAVs in different application scenarios. Other types of UAVs are also reported, but their numbers are comparably low. Most of the studies report multirotors due to their simplicity in control mechanisms and high-precision in positioning. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, are being widely used and have gained significant attention in the last decade. We believe these insights will serve as guidelines and motivations for relevant researchers. Finally, future research directions are identified to further hone the research work. Moreover, application scenarios, potential challenges and security issues are also examined. This study provides a comprehensive review of UAVs, types, swarms, classifications, charging methods and regulations. As a result, the primary goal of this research is to provide insights into the potentials of UAVs, as well as their characteristics and functionality issues. Despite these appealing benefits, UAVs face limitations in operability due to several critical concerns in terms of flight autonomy, path planning, battery endurance, flight time and limited payload carrying capability, as intuitively it is not recommended to load heavy objects such as batteries. UAVs support implicit particularities including access to disaster-stricken zones, swift mobility, airborne missions and payload features. It is due to technological trends and rapid advancements in control, miniaturization, and computerization, which culminate in secure, lightweight, robust, more-accessible and cost-efficient UAVs. ![]() The drone industry has seen a sharp uptake in the last decade as a model to manufacture and deliver convergence, offering synergy by incorporating multiple technologies. Each train station set its own clock making it difficult to coordinate train schedules and confusing passengers. ![]() American railroads maintained many different time zones during the late 1800s. The use of local solar time became increasingly awkward as railways and telecommunications improved. Noon occurred at different times but time differences between distant locations were barely noticeable prior to the 19th century because of long travel times and the lack of long-distance instant communications prior to the development of the telegraph.
